[Bakground] Miss Lulu was originally born in Europe, but moved with her family at a very young age to the tropical island of Besaid and lived there for most of her life. The untimely deaths of her parents soon after this transplant forced her to grow up extremely quickly, taking on more responsibility and effectively losing any chance for a normal, happy childhood in the process.

This was not to say that she didn't have any friends; quite to the contrary, she had a relatively large group of companions whom she cared for like an older sister. As she grew older, tragedy struck again in the form of her fiance being shot down during a skirmish between Besaid's government and a small rebellious force. Heartbroken and unable to fully comprehend that he wasn't coming back, Lulu retreated into herself and built up her defenses, shutting out her worried friends. This continued for a few months before she eased up, but despite that she is still not the easiest of people to speak with.

Besaid now held too many bitter memories for Lulu, so she packed up her things and flew herself as far away from the island as she could afford. That just so happened to be the city close to LSG, who coincidentally were looking for a librarian at the time. Thinking that such a job would keep her and her mind busy for a while, she took it willingly.
